My old man opened a barbershop in Brunswick in 1978. I grew up sweeping his floors, watching him talk to every bloke who walked in like an old mate. He taught me that a barbershop isn't about hair — it's about the ten minutes someone gets to switch off.
I opened Eddie's in Altona in 2009 to carry that on. Dad still drops in on Saturdays to do a few of his regulars. We do modern fades and old-school shaves with the same care either way.
